One Day Normal Will Return
One day normal will return.
When things go back to normal, the birds’ songs will sound a little sweeter. Hugs will feel a little tighter, and smiles will look a little warmer.
When things go back to normal, visiting relatives will feel like a vacation. Tears of joy will come a little quicker and love will lead with less hesitation.
When things go back to normal, our words will sound a little more grace filled. Our patience will be a little longer and our commutes to work will feel a little shorter.
When things go back to normal, grandparents’ kisses on your children’s cheeks will warm your soul more than it used to. Your coworker’s laugh will sound like music.

When things get back to normal we will be stronger. More compassion will fill our hearts and we will be slower to anger.
When things get back to normal, things won’t be normal at all. Some families will have members missing, and a piece of their hearts stolen.
When things go back to normal, the earth will be a little healthier allowing humans to borrow her just a bit longer.
When things go back to normal, we will be wiser. We will be changed. We will be better.
When things go back to normal, let’s not rush back to the normal we were used to. Let’s take our time. Enjoy the new brightness of your neighbor’s roses. The embrace of our parents or grandparents. The connectedness that comes from this shared experience.
When things go back to normal, remember the days we longed for that moment. Remember when things weren’t normal at all. Relish in the normalcy that you are standing in. Appreciate where we’ve been and where we’re going.
When things go back to normal, let’s promise we won’t forget to love each other a little more.
